Harvey Elliott signs new contract at Liverpool

Teenage winger Harvey Elliott has signed a new five-year contract at Liverpool.

Harvey Elliott has signed a new five-year contract with Liverpool as he prepares to play more first-team football at Anfield. Two years after joining Liverpool for £4million from Fulham, the 18-year-old has played just twice in the Premier League for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

While on loan from Blackburn Rovers, Elliott scored seven goals and registered 11 assists in England’s second tier, and he could be part of the Reds’ squad as they try to reclaim the Premier League title.

The teenager told the Liverpool website: “It’s always going to be there throughout the years I’m here. Hopefully, it’s going to be a long time. There’s always going to be those butterflies whenever you put on the shirt, whenever you go out to train and play, whenever you’re involved in the club there’s always that feeling. Especially for me, being a Red, as well as my family – it’s nice to make them proud and make myself proud. But the hard work carries on.”

He has appeared eight times for Liverpool in all competitions, most recently in the Carabao Cup third round against Lincoln City, which Liverpool won 7-2. Elliott recorded an assist in the win.

In October, he signed for Blackburn on a temporary deal to boost his experience, and in addition to winning the Rovers’ Goal of the Season award for a solo goal against Millwall, he also made 41 appearances in England’s second tier.
