
Sunil Chhetri turned 37 today on August 3, the Indian football captain was born in 1984. The striker plays for the Indian Super League club Bengaluru FC with number 11 on his jersey. He captains both, his club Bengaluru FC as well as the national football team.
Chhetri first time appeared in the jersey of the Indian national team sixteen years ago against Pakistan in the year 2005 when he was 20 years old during the nation’s three-match series. The Bengaluru FC winger has netted 19 goals in the AFC Cup and AFC Champions qualifiers combined that is the most by any player from India. He is the only Indian player who has performed on three several continents including Asia, Europe (Sporting Club de Portugal) and North America (Kansas City Wizards).
The player who started his career with Mohun Bagan is the second-highest goalscorer in the ISL league history with 47, has achieved it all to be honoured for.
