Undoubtedly, Olivier Giroud is Stefano Pioli’s only reliable striker. The Frenchman, who is 36 years old, has a contract that expires at the end of the current season. However, the Rossoneri are planning on extending it as soon as possible. Since arriving from Chelsea in 2021, Giroud has netted 20 times in 53 games. He was a crucial player in the Rossoneri’s victory over an 11-year Scudetto drought last term.
Earlier this year, the veteran forward expressed his desire to remain at the San Siro. Giroud told Gazzetta Dello Sport: “I am well at Milan – the fans have well received me, and I have made the most of this opportunity by carving out my own space in the team.”.
The Italian publication Dello Sport had previously reported that the French striker would be earning the same salary under his revised contract as he does under his current contract. In terms of annual revenue, this equates to €3.5 million.
