Gerard Pique might come back to play his last World Cup

Spanish defender Pique has been included in the 55-man preliminary squad and is willing to play his last World Cup.

Gerard Pique, who announced retirement from national football a few years ago, has been included in Spain’s preliminary 55-man squad for the Qatar World Cup 2022.

Pique had said that he would be open to coming out of retirement only if he is selected in the squad and now that the ex-Barca boss has selected the Spaniard, we might actually see the Blaugrana donning the Spanish jersey after a really long time.

The defender has not been given much time by his ex-Barca teammate and current coach Xavi following his dismal series of performances, drop in his form and his off-field controversies with Shakira and his businesses. It is still not clear if Luis will include him in the 26-man final squad that will fly to Qatar but fans would also love to see Pique playing his last world cup before he hangs up his boots as an elite defender.
