Gerard Pique accused of taking €6 million in Saudi Arabia-Super Cup deal.

According to a sensational report from El Confidencial, star Barcelona defender Gerard Pique may be caught in a corruption scandal along with RFEF(Spanish FA) President Luis Rubiales. The leaked documents and audio suggest that Rubiales agreed to pay Pique about €6 million for the agreement, and tried to conceal the Barça defender’s involvement in the contracts and records. Pique had supported Rubiales in completing an agreement for the Spanish Super Cup to be relocated to Saudi Arabia, which was completed in 2019. The leaked audio recording was posted by El Confidencial on Twitter.

A conversation from the leaked audio has Rubiales congratulating Pique for winning a recent game and confirming the deal in Saudi Arabia and also thanking him for his help.

From the leaked recording, Pique speaks to Rubiales about the financial details involved in doing the deal in Saudi Arabia. Pique also warned that if the deal is not completed from Rubiales’s end there is a chance that might be used against him and he might be caught, but if he did go ahead with the deal he could show he was not doing anything ing wrong.

Pique also said to Rubiales they have to get paid for their involvement in the deal and that he needed his support in doing so.
