Former Norwich City manager Daniel Farke left Russian Premier League side Krasnodar without managing a single game. The German joined the club in January and signed a deal until 2024. He only spent 48 days in charge.
Krasnodar currently sits 6th in the Russian Premier League with a point behind and game in hand to 5th placed Akhmat Grozny who has 30 points.
Farke was set to manage his first game last weekend against Lokomotiv Moscow, whose manager Markus Gisdol also resigned on Tuesday. But, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Krasnodar airport was suspended and the fixture was postponed indefinitely. His decision to leave following the resignation of fellow German Markus Gisdol as manager of Lokomotiv Moscow.
The club stated that Farke and Krasnodar no longer stay on contract with mutual consent. Along with Farke, his assistant named Edmund Riemer, Chris Domogalla and Christopher John also terminates their contracts from the club. The statement by the official account on Twitter read, “Krasnodar and Daniel Farke terminated the contract by mutual agreement ” Speaking to Kicker, Farke expressed his thoughts on the termination of the contract and said that it was very tough for them as they were welcomed very “warmly” from the first day.
Farke was dismissed by Norwich City last year November after four years in charge. A poor start to their Premier League return left them bottom of the table with five points from 11 games. However, he could not compete at the highest level i.e. Premier League. At 12.2% he had the worst Premier League win percentage of any Norwich manager ever. He had led Norwich to promotion from the Championship twice since 2017 and was succeeded by Dean Smith.
