
Brazilian footballing legend Pele took a “little step back” during his recovery from a colon surgery he underwent to remove a tumour a week back, according to his daughter Kely Nascimento but otherwise he is “recovering well”.

She did not comment on any local reports about the 80-year-old football icon which say that he was back in intensive care.
Kelly Nascimento posted a picture of her with Pele which was taken in his room in the Albert Einstein Hospital. She said that he is recovering well and within normal range and she adds a promise to reassure the netizens. She added by saying that the normal recovery scenario for a man of his advanced age will be two steps forward and one step backwards and yesterday, the football icon was tired and took a little step back. She continued by giving reassuring news about him, saying that when she visited him today, he took two steps forward without giving any further details about the condition. The hospital has not issued any new statement on the health of the legend since he got removed from intensive care.
This tumour that he underwent surgery for was discovered at the end of August when he went to the hospital for his routine exams. He underwent surgery on the 4th of September.
