FIFA announces official mascot for 2022 Qatar World Cup

La’eeb comes from a parallel world where tournament mascots live. It is a world where ideas and creativity form the basis of characters that live in the minds of everyone.

Every World Cup promises something more than a nail-biting victory moment. It is the official mascot which is by the tradition and culture of the country hosting it. FIFA has revealed its mascot of 2022 in the final draw ceremony in Doha, La’eeb, which stands for a super-skilled player in Arabic.

“La’eeb believes that ‘Now is All’, and encourages everyone to believe in themselves”, stated the official page of FIFA. The GIFs and stickers will be available for download via social media hosts including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, WhatsApp and Snapchat.

“We are delighted to unveil La’eeb as the Official Mascot for the first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East and the Arab world. He comes from the mascot-verse – an indescribable place. We encourage everyone to imagine what it looks like”, said the Deputy Director-General, Khalid Ali Al Mawlawi on FIFA’s official page.

La’eeb is a mascot of unity and encouragement, as he is determined to contribute to the encouragement of the youth- inspiring them, spreading joy and confidence. He will be present during all tournaments that are scheduled to take place later in the year, from November 21 to December 18th.
