FC Barcelona played against their old rivals Real Madrid in the La Liga on Sunday night, 19th March at Spotify Camp Nou (Barcelona’s home ground). It was a good game for Barcelona as they defeated the visitors by 2-1. FC Barcelona have taken a huge lead in the La Liga’s points table now after this victory over second-place Real Madrid. They are now 12 points ahead of the Real Madrid.
The host were the one who conceded first in the game. Real Madrid took the lead in the 9th minute when Barcelona’s defender Araujo scored an own goal. It was a brilliant start for the defending champions but the lead was taken away from them in the 45th minute. Roberto scored the equaliser for Barcelona and that gave some relief to them in the game.
Barcelona was playing well in terms of possession and chances creation. They were all over Real Madrid but still were finding difficult to score. Kessie scored the goal to get Barcelona over the line in the dying seconds of the game. The goal from Kessie came just before the full-time’s whistle.
