The Spanish side Barcelona becomes the first and only team to ever have FIFA’s best men’s and women’s award holders on their squad. This is an incredible achievement as it shows that Barcelona has got one of the best players in both their men’s team as well as the women’s team. Also, this is happening for the first time as well.

The 33-year-old Polish striker Robert Lewandowski recently got signed by Barcelona by the Bundesliga giant FC Bayern Munich.  The phenomenon goal scorer was signed by Barcelona in July for a four-year deal.  The fee of the deal is set to be €50 million plus add-ons. On top of that, the Spanish club has also set a €500 million release clause to keep the player away from receiving any other transfer offers shortly. Shows how important a signing he is bound to become for the now struggling Barcelona side. Robert has won the FIFA best player award back to back as well for his contributions made in Bundesliga

The 28-year-old Spanish international Alexia Putellas has been at the club FC Barcelona since 2012. She has been an integral part of the Barcelona Feminí over all these years. Putellas won this remarkable award in 2021 for her extraordinary performances last season. She scored a total of 34 goals for Barcelona Feminí last season and that is a very brilliant achievement. She has played over 350 games for Barcelona.

Barcelona with already one of the most dominant teams in the women’s category would also want their men’s team to rise and start challenging for titles. It is about time since Barcelona became great again since their club legend Lionel Messi left. With all the new signings and Lewandowski, the Blaugranas are hoping to become more competitive.
