An injury to defender Lucas Digne will be a major blow to Everton, as they are up against Leeds United this weekend. Everton also face Chelsea, Leicester City, Arsenal and Manchester United in the month of December. Everton put out a statement stating that Digne suffered from an injury during a training session and he will undergo a surgery.
The statement read, “The left-back was injured during a training session at USM Finch Farm this week,”
“Digne is due to undergo surgery on Monday before commencing his rehabilitation under the care of the club’s medical staff.”
There is no update on how long Digne will be out of action for the Toffees.
The 27 year old has been a major part of Everton’s rebuild and has solidified himself as one of the most reliable fullbacks in the league. Digne is fairly decent both going forward and as a defender. He will be a big miss to the club, considering the tough run of fixtures that lie ahead.
