Chelsea kicked off their Europa Conference League campaign with an emphatic 4-2 win against Belgian side Gent last night. The match saw a flurry of goals, with Chelsea’s attack firing on all cylinders despite some defensive lapses.
The Blues took the lead early in the game, thanks to a well-placed strike by Diego Viega. Pedro Neto, who has quickly become a fan favorite, doubled the lead with a stunning solo effort. However, Gent managed to pull one back before halftime, exposing Chelsea’s defensive vulnerabilities.
In the second half, Christopher Nkunku found the back of the net with a clinical finish, restoring Chelsea’s two-goal cushion. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall then added to the scoreline with a powerful header.
