Erling Haaland back on the scoresheet as Man City beat Liverpool in the Cup tie

Manchester City are through to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Manchester City defeated Liverpool FC bu 3-2 in a Carabao Cup tie on Thursday night, 22nd December. It was a classic cup game between Man City and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. Manchester City just clinched the victory and has made it to the last 8 of the competition.

Manchester City started the scoring and it was none other than their star striker Erling Haaland who has his first in the 10th minute. The city didn’t lead the Reds for a long time as Liverpool’s midfielder Carvalho scored the equalizer 10 minutes later than Haaland’s goal.

It was a perfect start to the game by both of the giants. At the start of the second half, City scored a goal that came off their forward Riyad Mahrez’s foot. Mohamed Salah didn’t hesitate to register his name on the scoresheet and scored a minute later to equalize the scoreline by 2-2.

However, a sweet ball from Kevin De Bruyne to Nathan Ake was the winning moment for Manchester City as they clinched the victory with that goal. Manchester City will now play against another Premier League club med Southampton FC in the quarter-finals of the tournament (Carabao Cup) at the start of the next year.
