Speaking for the first time since the club’s decision, Ten Hag shared his thoughts and experiences with Dutch broadcaster NOS Studio while on holiday.
The confirmation comes after a period of speculation regarding Ten Hag’s future. Reports suggested that Manchester United had engaged in discussions with several high-profile candidates, including former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel. However, after thorough consideration, the club decided to retain Ten Hag.
“Manchester United have told me that they have spoken with Thomas Tuchel, and several candidates. But, they eventually came to the conclusion that they already have the best manager and so…,” Ten Hag revealed during his interview.
