Manchester United suffered a frustrating afternoon in the Premier League on Sunday. They were held to a 0-0 draw by bottom-placed Southampton, where midfielder Casemiro received a red card. Manchester United will be without Casemiro for the next four matches.
Casemiro’s dismissal for a dangerously high boot in the 34th minute gave confidence to the visitors, and the game was entertaining, with many opportunities at both ends.
During the first period, prolific striker Marcus Rashford saw a shot well saved by Southampton goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu in a one-on-one situation with Bruno Fernandes.
Theo Walcott saw a point-blank header and curling shot saved by David De Gea, while Kyle Walker-Peters hit the post.
United remains third in league with 50 points, while Southampton remains at the bottom with 22 points.
