England National Football team claims third place in the FIFA rankings

New FIFA rankings was announced on Thursday. Some teams have risen up in the table whereas some has seen downfall. England has claimed their joint-highest place in the latest FIFA rankings.

England national football team is currently in third place in the FIFA rankings. The International Federation of Association Football has announced the rankings of the National teams on Thursday where England rose to the third position from the previous fourth. They have created history after claiming the third spot in the FIFA rankings on Thursday. Gareth Southgate’s (England national football team Manager) English side was on fourth since April 2019. England team has performed well in these recent years. So, the team’s, as well as the manager’s hard work, has paid off.

They are currently in their joint-highest position in the FIFA rankings. England team went to third place nine years before and now after a long wait, they have claimed this spot again. Gareth Southgate’s England national football team performed emphatically well in the Euro 2020, where he takes his team to the final of the tournament. However, they couldn’t win the trophy but the fans, as well as experts, have noticed improvements in the team from the previous years. France has now moved to the fourth position following their performance in the Euro 2020, where they were fired by Switzerland in the penalties in Round of 16.

With a total of 1832 points, Belgium continues to dominate the FIFA rankings leaving behind Brazil on second with a total of 1812 points. England who moved up to third now has 1755 points, one point above the 2018 FIFA World Cup winners.
