Winning ‘The Best FIFA Goalkeeper’ for 2021, Mendy had a huge role to play in the winning finals of the Champions League. He also had the record of 9 clean sheets before the Blues won the Champions League.

Among the top 3 were the winner itself Mendy, along with the two legendary goal savers, Gianluigi Donnarumma – he had a major role to play, helping his team win the Euro 2020 before going to PSG and Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer- the legendary goalkeeper.

After arriving at Chelsea, Mendy took the first-choice spot of goalkeepers in the team, usurping Kepa. He has made 70 appearances for the Blues club and also played a major role under Tuchel’s coaching.

Though Mendy was awarded this great achievement from FIFA, Donnarumma took his place in the FIFPro World XI.

With the keepers – Gianluigi Buffon, Thibaut Courtois, Alisson and Neur, Mendy too has joined the club of The Best FIFA Goalkeeper, since the year of 2017 when for the first time this award was presented.

Chelsea looks highly motivated with Mendy winning the Best Goalkeeper and Tuchel achieving The Best Coach.
