The game between the two sides was owing to the rain-hit conditions as they headed into the dressing rooms at halftime which either team had yet to score. As both sides struggled to gain the upper hand in the game to decide the table-toppers, FCBU found themselves in a good position after being very sluggish in attack to finally break the deadlock courtesy of Thokchom James Singh header in the penalty area to give his side the lead in the 64th minute of the game.

With just moments to spare the scoreline was leaning towards FCBU to claim the win with one goal separating the two sides as it headed into a nerve-wracking final few minutes. After fighting hard to claim a point at the very least Mohammedan SC conceded a penalty in the fifth minute of stoppage time and cracked under the pressure to get themselves back in the game. The spot-kick was cooly converted by the Slovenian forward Luka Majcen to seal the win and help FCBU finish the group stages as the table toppers.
