Legendary striker, Didier Drogba has resigned from his post of Vice President of the Association des Footballeurs Ivoiriens and also resigned from the Steering Committee of the Federation.
Drogba has posted an open letter, on Twitter, regarding his issues with the federation. He has addressed the letter to all of the Ivorian footballers and talks about the fact that how all of the footballers are facing financial difficulties due to the inaction of the leaders in the federation.
He has stated that the federation doesn’t care for the players, as they signed pacts without taking neither the interest of the players into account nor informing the various members of the committees about these pacts.

Be firmly convinced, it will be returned to you” and added that he will always support those who will work for the development of the sport in the Ivory Coast and working for a fairer system aimed at the welfare of the footballers playing under the AFI.
Drogba, earlier, had competed for the Presidential elections of the federation but couldn’t get enough sponsorships to run for the election Federation, footballers like Yaya Toure have also criticised the state of affairs in the Ivorian Federation. There has been no response yet from the AFI, regarding Drogba’s statement.
