Didier Deschamps conveys Karim Benzema’s possible return at World Cup final

The defending champions are set to face Messi-led Argentina for the battle of the World Cup 2022 title.

The defending champions France have advanced to the FIFA World Cup 2022 final in Qatar thanks to the inspiring leadership of head coach Didier Deschamps.

As the World Cup in Qatar approached, France experienced a string of setbacks as a number of well-known players were forced to withdraw from the championship match owing to individual injuries. Days before the competition began, France’s long list of injured players gained two superstars namely Karim Benzema and Christopher Nkunku.

Following Benzema’s exclusion from the World Cup in Qatar, Deschamps’ France decided not to look for a comparable substitute for the Real Madrid captain. Instead, France opted to continue with 25 players, and the defending world champions performed admirably in Qatar. Intriguingly, Real Madrid star Karim Benzema is back in the gym in preparation for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup final. The forward is still listed on France’s all-star World Cup roster. Can Benzema play in the Qatar World Cup championship game? In one of his most recent press conferences, French head coach Deschamps was questioned over his participation. “I don’t really want to answer that question. Next question,” replied Deschamps as quoted by Goal.

Deschamps was questioned earlier over Benzema’s availability when it was discovered that the Los Blancos striker is close to fully recovering from a thigh injury.

Meanwhile, the France team led by Kylian Mbappe defeated Morocco by a score of 2-0 on Thursday in the second semifinal of the FIFA World Cup 2022 at the Al Bayt Stadium and are set to face Messi led Argentina for the battle of the title.
