Defender Scott Dann says goodbye to Crystal Palace after seven years

Scott Dann the Crystal Palace defender has decided to leave after being seven years at the club. He gave a goodbye message to the club, fans as well his teammates.

Premier League side, Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann has left the club after seven years. Dann plays in a centre-back position. The English defender had already made up his mind to leave Palace this summer. He has a contract with the club which was expired this year. However, the Eagles wanted to keep him in their team and wanted to give him a new contract, but it was Scott who wished to leave the club after his contract expiry. He willingly rejected the new contract offer from Crystal Palace and wanted some new challenges in his career. Scott Dann was signed by the eagles in 2014 from Blackburn Rovers in the winter transfer window.

The English centre-back was the main target of Palace in 2014. He also played a key role in the Crystal Defence defence in the 2014/15 season. The 34-year wishing to play for some other team and wished to have a new challenge, thus, he has decided to leave.

“I want to put on record my thanks to the managers, teammates, and backroom staff I’ve worked with during these enjoyable seven years at the club. I feel like I’ve gone through everything you can as a footballer in this time, and I am proud to have served and captained Crystal Palace,” Scott Dann in his farewell message posted on the club website.

He played 181 games for the Eagles, scored 17 goals, and also helped Crystal Palace to reach the FA Cup final in 2016. However, they lost the finals against the Red Devils (Manchester United). The Palace has also signed a new manager, Patrick Vieira this season after Roy Hodgson, their former coach left the role.
