Dani Alves returns to his former club FC Barcelona

The Catalonian club has agreed on a deal with their former defender Dani Alves and the Brazilian defender joined the club as a free agent on Friday evening.

It’s not even been a week since Xavi Hernandez arrived in Barcelona to take charge of the club, and he has already announced his first signing of the season. The Catalonian club has agreed on a deal with their former defender Dani Alves and the Brazilian defender joined the club as a free agent on Friday evening.

What looks like a hasty decision turns out to belong to be a long and ongoing process. Fabrizio Romano confirmed this in one of his tweets mentioned how the agent previously made the offer of Alves to Koeman. The former Barcelona manager didn’t share the same views as that of Xavi and declined the offer. Meanwhile, Club President Laporta was also in favor of getting the gold-medalist defender on the team. Romano confirmed that only a few days ago, the president put out a statement confirming that Alves has also “offered help on a sporting perspective.”

Dani Alves has had a great run of form with Barcelona in his first stint with the club. He is the only senior player with 46 titles to his name, and 23 of them came with Barcelona. It includes 6 La Ligas, 4 Copa del Rey, 3 Champions League, 3 Club World Cups, 3 Spanish Cups, and 4 European Super Cups. The current contract of Dani Alves includes a clause to extend this deal until 2023. That will depend on the run that the club has with him and in the competitive tournaments. Alves will join the training from the next week onwards.
