Dani Alves confirms he is leaving FC Barcelona

Barcelona will not be offering the 39-year-old another contract as he has confirmed his departure.

Brazilian veteran star Dani Alves has confirmed that he is to leave Barcelona this season. He was already informed that the club will not be renewing his contract. Alves came back to Barcelona for the 2021-22 season after he had left the club in 2017 for Juventus. Since then his career has not flourished as much as it had back in his first stint at Barcelona.

It was indicated by Xavi that the club will not be needing the output of Dani Alves as Sergio Roberto who has been the starting right-back has signed his contract renewal for the club. The Blaugranas already have a backup player for that position in Sergio Dest but his future at the club is still doubtful.

For Alves, this will not be good news as the Brazilian star has been called up for the Brazilian team for the upcoming friendlies and Alves wanted to end his career on a good note by playing for his country in the 2022 Qatar World Cup

But now his chances are in jeopardy as he has to find a club good enough where he has to settle and get minutes. Then only his performances can be validated and based on that only he can get a spot on the Brazilian squad for the World Cup which will be starting in November.
