Cristiano Ronaldo shares an open and frank opinion on his future

On Thursday, Portugal defeated Turkey 3-1 to set up a game versus North Macedonia for a spot in Qatar World Cup 2022.

Cristiano Ronaldo would be 37 years old, however, his endurance is like that of a 25-year-old. Whilst the legendary striker isn’t precisely thriving at his finest for Manchester United this campaign, Ronaldo has had his glimpses of genius at the side and for his country.

However, the striker, who is still in excellent nick, has downplayed speculations that this will be his final World Cup if Portugal advances through.

Cristiano Ronaldo will tackle North Macedonia in a playoff final, attempting to take Portugal to the World Cup later this year. Italy was eliminated from Qatar last week in an unexpected turn of fortunes. Ronaldo made a point of saying that he has no aspirations to withdraw from football anytime soon while questioned regarding his upcoming future. He said as reported by Fabrizio Romano, “I enjoy football and I still feel useful both at the club and at the national team. I will decide when I want. If I want to play more games, I will, if I don’t feel like it, I don’t play more.”

Ronaldo faced a goal drought with the Red Devils temporarily, but he overcame it remarkably a few weeks ago with a hat-trick against Tottenham. However, there is a possibility he will not return to Old Trafford following season, primarily if the club fails to qualify for the Champions League. They are now in sixth place, four points behind Arsenal, who retains the final berth.

Cristiano Ronaldo manages to produce strikes at an outrageous rate at the international level. He scored six goals in World Cup qualifying and shall certainly perform a pivotal impact against North Macedonia. While it’s currently unknown what Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United holds, it’s clear he won’t be hanging up his boots anytime soon. He’s still as amped up as ever to compete at the highest level and win trophies.

When it concerns player contract extensions as per Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have no preparations to commence negotiations with Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, or Juan Mata. until now, the approach has not been revised. Bruno Fernandes’ new agreement will be settled in the coming days, while terms with Luke Shaw will start shortly.
