Christophe Galtier has now been elected the club’s newest head manager, following Mauricio Pochettino’s leaving from the Ligue 1 champs. It was officially disclosed that Mauricio Pochettino would be departing Paris Saint-Germain, and Christophe Galtier would fill his shoes on Tuesday. In the 2021–22 season, PSG claimed the league with a lead of 15 points, but Pochettino was replaced on Tuesday for failing to lead them to their maiden Champions League crown.

Galtier has been assigned the position at PSG and has the favour of current sporting director Luis Campos. Campos and Galtier formerly teamed at Lille to build the side that closely edged PSG to the Ligue 1 cup in 2020–21. Shortly before they claimed the championship, Galtier signed Nice and left Lille.
He only stayed on the French Riviera for one summer, wrapping up fifth and making it to the Coupe de France final, before exiting close to the end of last month. Nice then managed to bring back Lucien Favre in his place.
Considering Pochettino’s dismissal predicted since the conclusion of the preceding campaign, that decision transpired as reports about Galtier’s signing to PSG intensified. Pochettino’s dismissal was made official just hours before Galtier and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi addressed a media briefing.
With their most recent Champions League setback occurring in a second-leg loss to subsequent title-holders Real Madrid in the round of 16, Galtier will have the complex situation of putting an end to PSG’s long quest for Champions League victory. Christophe Galtier will serve as Paris Saint German’s sixth coach since 2012.
