Chennaiyin FC welcomes defender Salam Ranjan Singh

The two-time Indian Super League title winner Chennaiyin FC announced on Friday that they signed off centre defender Salam Ranjan Singh on a multi-year deal. He belongs from Manipur joining CFC following a stint at ATK Mohan Bagan.

The defender quoted in a media release, “It feels amazing to join Chennaiyin FC. I aim to help the club achieve its goals while garnering as much playing time as possible. I hope to establish my place in the squad, and give my very best for the club and our supporters.”

He further added, “My hunger to perform has never been greater, and I have been focusing on my fitness and self-analysis to become a better player and a better professional, ” Salam had also won back-to-back youth titles before he was promoted to the senior team in 2013-14. The defender had also joined Bengaluru FC along with whom he won the I-League and Federation Cup trophies.

Salam had played for Athletico Kolkata (ATK) and was a member of the squad that won the 2019-20 title. Salam was first called for the national team in 2017 with having picked prior at the youth level. He has performed so solid in the 2018 Intercontinental Cup triumph along with game time in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
