In the first Quarter of the game, Northeast United showed their little domination over the field against Chennaiyin FC by playing the most ball between them but that doesn’t stop Chennaiyin to lay their foot on the ball, as both the teams are seen to get few chances near the goal. But the defence of both sides kept the score nil. At 41-minute Northeast United made a misplaced pass and Chennaiyin FC’s Lallianzuala Chhangte got this advantage to take a shot on it, which trickled into the net after striking the underside of the crossbar. with the 3minute of added time first half ended with Chennaiyin FC 1 and Northeast United at nil. 2nd half of the match started; both the teams stepped inside the pitch to fight back. In the 50th minute, Northeast’s player Suhair Vadakkepeedika levelled the scores for his team on the mistake of Chennaiyin FC’s Vishal Kaith. The last goal of the match was on behalf of Chennaiyin FC scored by the team captain Anirudh Thapa with a fine finish on goal and the team regained the lead and maintained it till the end of 90mins game. Northeast failed to make last moment equalizer on the score and with this full time of match ended with 1-2.
