Today, London became blue as Chelsea FC won the London Derby, against Arsenal in a comfortable fashion with the final score being 2-0. Arsenal, meanwhile, have been pushed to a bigger hole after this loss. They have now lost their first two games of the season, and it looks nothing has changed for the club’s fortunes.

Chelsea’s first goal came from Romelu Lukaku in the 15th minute, who was making his “second debut” for the club he very much admires. The goal originated from him as he held the ball, with the back towards the goal, allowing Matteo Kovacic to come in. He passed it to Kovacic who lofted it to a marauding Reece James. James, then, delivered a perfect ball which Lukaku finished, giving probably a sneak peek in what may be, a goal-laden season for him.

Reece James got rewarded for his efforts as Kai Havertz gave a good ball, against the touchline to Marcos Alonso who passed to Lukaku. The striker flicked to Mason Mount, and then he gave a lofted ball to James, who was again running into the box from the right side. James finished the play with style, as he scored the second goal in the 35th minute.

Arsenal got a whiff of Chelsea’s goal but it materialises into anything substantial because the Chelsea defence sweeper up anything that could have threatened the clean sheet. Saka, Emile Smith-Rowe were the main threats who were creating the half-chances for their team.

There was a penalty shout for Saka as it looked like James dropped him, but it was given by neither the referee nor the VAR. In the second half, Chelsea played with a much lower intensity than the first half but still controlled the game well, though there wasn’t any goal scored by them.

Lukaku had a chance to score a third but his diving header was saved excellently by Bernd Leno which left the striker in shock.

Ultimately, Chelsea will get all the three points and are looking dangerous with Lukaku upfront but the man of the match is Reece James, as his marauding runs created several problems for Arsenal. He set up Lukaku’s goal and then he scored one of his own which makes him up the best player of the match.
