Chelsea keen on signing Victor Osimhen in the summer

Chelsea FC wants to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea Football Club are reportedly interested in signing Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Ligue 1 side Napoli. The 21-year-old has been in impressive form this season, scoring 10 goals in 20 appearances for the Italian club.

Osimhen joined Napoli last summer from Lille for a reported fee of €70 million and has quickly established himself as one of the most promising young forwards in Europe. His impressive goalscoring record and physical attributes have caught the eye of several top clubs across the continent, including Chelsea.

The Blues are in the market for a new striker following Timo Werner’s disappointing first season at Stamford Bridge and the recent departure of Tammy Abraham to Aston Villa. Osimhen’s pace, power, and finishing ability make him an attractive option for Thomas Tuchel’s side, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the second half of the season.

Chelsea will face stiff competition for the signature of Osimhen, with several other top clubs, including Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, also believed to be interested in the Nigerian international. However, the Blues have reportedly made signing a striker a priority and are said to be willing to spend big to secure the services of one of Europe’s hottest prospects.

While Napoli are unlikely to let Osimhen go easily, Chelsea’s financial muscle and the lure of playing in the Premier League could make them a tempting destination for the striker. Whether a deal can be struck remains to be seen, but one thing is certain, Osimhen is a player to watch in the transfer market this summer
