Chelsea drop points; fail to win seventh away game in a row

Chelsea have a disappointing draw against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Chelsea FC had their first game in the new year against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, 1st January. The blues were the visitors at Nottingham Forest’s stadium. Chelsea didn’t have the game as expected as they lost two crucial points in it.

The blues weren’t upto the mark in the game despite scoring early. The former Manchester City’s forward Raheem Sterling scored the opening goal of the game when Nottingham Forest’s defender Boly made a mistake in their box.

The ball from Pulisic was flicked incorrectly by Boly and touched the bar before coming to Sterling who finished it well in the net. Chelsea were leading at the half, but it wasn’t a comfortable lead as Nottingham Forest kept creating chances.

The host got their reward in the second half as they scored from a corner. Former Tottenham Hotspur’s right-back Serge Aurier scored the equalising goal and made it 1-1 in the end. This goal from Aurier was the last one of the game and both the team had to settle it for a draw. Chelsea remain in the 8th position and have 25 points in 16 games.
