
Chelsea has finally achieved their first FIFA Club World Cup title in their two appearances defeating reigning Copa Libertadores champions Palmeiras 2-1 at Abu Dhabi.
The Blues started with the lead in the second half when Romelu Lukaku netted for his side at 54th minute to which, the Brazilian club replied with an equaliser with Raphael Veiga’s strike at 64th minute but this wasn’t enough to stop the reigning UEFA Champions League winners as Kai Havertz, in extra time scored a winner through penalty at the 117th minute to lift the trophy in Abu Dabi.

Kai was also the hero of the 2021 UCL final where he scored a winner against Manchester City, the only goal of the match to clinch the trophy for Chelsea as its second Champions League title.

The 18th edition of the championship was delayed following COVID-19 situations and was held this year from 3rd February to 13th February hosted by the United Arab Emirates at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Spanish club Real Madrid has won most titles at the tournament with 4 trophies, rivals Barcelona with three while Bayern Munich are the reigning champions having won twice.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly won the match for 3rd place defeating Al-Hilal 4-0 today as both the teams previously had lost their semifinals fixtures.
