Championship side Nottingham Forest send Arsenal out of the FA Cup

Mikel Arteta’s men are out of the FA Cup 2021/22 season as they had to taste a 1-0 defeat against the Championship side Nottingham Forest on Sunday night.

The Championship side named Nottingham Forest F.C. progressed to the next stage of the FA Cup 2021/22 season as they defeated Arsenal on Sunday by 1-0. Mikel Arteta’s men came as visitors in the third round of the FA Cup 2021/22. It was a shocking defeat for Gunners as they were in good form lately in the English Premier League this season. They are currently in the fourth position in the Premier League table with 35 points in the 20 games they played. The Gunners were expected to go to the next round of this tournament (FA Cup 2021/22) but it was the Championship side who came out as winners in this game and progressed into the fourth round of this season’s FA Cup.

Talking about who dominated this game, then surely it was the Premier League side Arsenal in terms of Chances created, passes and Possession on the ball. Arsenal also had so many chances in the first half but they weren’t able to convert them in goal. Thus, the first half score was 0-0. It was a disappointing night for Arteta as they played a good game on Sunday.

 

In the second half, as well Mikel Arteta’s men were not letting the opposition play as most of the time they had the ball. All the chances of the host came from the counter-attack. The home side’s counter-attacking game cost Arsenal a place in the fourth round of FA Cup 2021/22. In the 83rd minute, when no one expected it was Nottingham Forest who took the lead and their striker Lewis Grabban grabbed his first and last goal in the game to make his team victorious in the third round of the competition.
