The match didn’t start the way people had expected it to, like Barcelona, with the help of Ansu Fati’s heroic strike from a tight angle, netted the first goal of the game in the 5th minute. This was followed by some excellent possession play by Barcelona, who kept moving the ball around. Another goal rewarded them for their great movement, as Sergio Busquets curled one past the Dituro in the 18th minute. After this, Celta showed some vigor to win a freekick in a crucial position and also penetrated the Barcelona defense at times.

However, they failed to score even a single shot on goal. While on the counter, Barcelona scored the 3rd goal of the game in the 34th minute to almost seal the game in the first half itself. Towards the end of the half, Ansu Fati seemed to be struggling with a niggle he picked up during the match. It was a scare for the Barcelona dugout, who already had some of their key players out with injury. The young Spaniard continued, and the teams headed into halftime with Barcelona leading 3-0.

The second half did not start well enough for Barcelona. As if the blow of losing Ansu Fati to an injury was not enough, they conceded in the 63rd minute. It was Iago Aspas who scored the first goal for the home side. After the departure of Gavi from the field, Barcelona looked half the side they were in the first half. This was clearly visible in Celta’s game, and they netted their second goal of the game in the 74th minute of the game. It was Nolito who scored a headed goal from a great cross by Cervi.

In the 90+5 minutes, when everyone thought that the match was definitely over, Iago Aspas snatched the victory for Cetla. He took on a shot from outside the box which ended right into the bottom of the right corner. Barcelona players looked dejected as the referee blew the whistle for the last time.
