Brighton and Hove Albion manager, Roberto De Zerbi, has officially announced the departure of midfielders Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister from the club during this summer’s transfer window. The news comes as a surprise to many fans who had hoped to see the talented duo continue their development at the Premier League club.
Moises Caicedo, the promising Ecuadorian midfielder, burst onto the scene in January 2021 when Brighton secured his signature from Independiente del Valle. Despite being just 19 years old at the time, Caicedo quickly established himself as a key figure in Brighton’s midfield, displaying maturity beyond his years and earning rave reviews for his energetic displays. However, it appears that his time with the Seagulls has come to an end after only a year and a half at the club.
Similarly, Alexis Mac Allister, the Argentine playmaker, will also be bidding farewell to the Amex Stadium. Mac Allister joined Brighton in 2019 but was immediately loaned back to his former club, Argentinos Juniors, for the remainder of the season. Since his return, the Argentine has shown flashes of his immense talent, providing creative spark and technical skill in midfield. His departure will undoubtedly leave a void in Brighton’s attacking options.
