Borussia Dortmund deals to sign Niklas Suele on a free transfer from team Bayern Munich. Dortmund Sports director Michael Zorc confirmed the signing in a statement, reported by AFP.
“We are pleased that we were able to sign a German national player Niklas Suele and retain him for four years,” stated Michael Zorc, as per AFP’s reports.
Bayern confirmed that Niklas would leave the team by the end of the season as the extension was turned down, resulting in the expiration of the contract.
Bayern Munich leads the Bundesliga league as Dortmund is 9 points behind the current number 1 and feels confident after signing the german player who can be a great performer for the team.
The 26-year-old centre back has appeared in 159 games for Bayern since his signing in the year 2017. Bayern signed Niklas from Hoffenheim for 20 million euros ($ 22.5 million). Niklas can continue with his sensational performance for the new team Dortmund as the centre-back is supposedly one of the key players for international team Germany in the World Cup which is set to begin in November.
Dortmund feels to strengthening their defensive unit as conceding goals has been one of the major issues for the team and Niklas with his experience can lead his new team in defensive strategy. Dortmund on Sunday lost to Bayer Leverkusen by 5-2. Niklas’s transfer rumours included teams like Chelsea and Newcastle but it has not been confirmed that the Bundesliga rivals Dortmund will be signing the star defender from Bayern Munich.
