Bruno Fernandes inks a long-term contract with Manchester United, boosting him in top earners

Bruno netted two goals for Portugal versus North Macedonia to enable his team participate in the FIFA World Cup in 2022.

Bruno Fernandes was hardly in fear of departing Manchester United, yet he has secured a pay raise enjoying a superb two years in the club. Bruno Fernandes has renewed his agreement with Manchester United till 2026, including a one-year extension option. Improved incentives have now been granted to Portugal international in acknowledgement of his substantial service to the team.

Bruno Fernandes remarked via the club’s official website, “From the moment that I joined Manchester United, I have had a special relationship with the club and our amazing fans. I grew up watching this team, dreaming of getting the chance to play here one day. That dream is now a reality and an honour.”

Mainly as a reflection of his imprint on the team since he arrived from Sporting CP in January 2020, the Portugal star has been recognized with upgraded terms, putting him one of the club’s highest earners.

His initial deal was for five and a half years, with the prospect of a year expansion, so the revised deal is only for another year, but the incentives have enhanced for the player. In terms of earnings, he has overtaken team captain Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford. Nonetheless, he will make less per week than Cristiano Ronaldo, David de Gea, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, Paul Pogba, and Edinson Cavani combined. The announcement is a substantial gain for United at a stage when the fortunes of a handful of other talents are in doubt.

Since joining United for £67.6 million from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, Fernandes, 27, has tallied 49 goals and aided on another 39 in 117 games. He is commonly considered United’s most impactful signing after Robin van Persie in 2012.

The midfielder has not yet been exceptionally fruitful this season, netting only nine goals, but it is anticipated that the new contract better reflects his significance inside the club.
