Brentford shock Liverpool to start new year with a bang

Brentford defeated Liverpool FC by 3-1 in the Premier League.

Liverpool FC had their first game of the new year on Tuesday, 3rd January. It was a League game against Brentford at Brentford community stadium. Jurgen Klopp’s men wasn’t good in the game as they lost 3-1 by Thomas Frank’s men. Brentford had another victory in the English Premier League as they have gained a 7th spot.

Liverpool FC are not having a great season as they are currently at 6th position and after winning four consecutive games, they lost. The first goal was an own goal by Konate which gave Brentford a deserved lead. Brentford were attacking unexpectedly and they got another goal in the first half.

Yoan Wissa doubled the lead for Brentford after his goal was disallowed by VAR a few minutes before that. Liverpool FC went into tunnel trailing by 2 goals to nil. Liverpool did pull one back in the 50th minute but it wasn’t enough for them to take three points from the game.

Brentford sealed the game with their third goal of the game in the 84th minute. It was Brentford’s striker Mbeumo who scored the winner and Thomas Frank took all three points.
