A brace from striker Erling Haaland and defender Thomas Meunier proved to be crucial for Dortmund to take three points from this game.

It all started with Dortmund’s right-back Thomas Meunier’s goal, which came in the 14th minute of the game. A few minutes later Borussia Dortmund was 2-0 up. Again it was Meunier who named himself on the scoresheet. It was the second goal for Dortmund and the right-back (Meunier) and also the second assist for midfielder Julian Brandt.

The third goal was scored by Dortmund’s star striker named Erling Haaland whose shot gets past the keeper and the host had a 3 goals lead before half-time. Nothing changed for Dortmund in the second half as they kept on creating chances and kept on searching for more goals. However, a counter-attacking move by SC Freiburg help them pull one goal back in the 61st minute. Later, when 15 minutes were remaining on the clock, the host found their fourth goal. It was again scored by Haaland who completed his brace with that goal. With that goal, Haaland has now scored 78 goals in 77 appearances for the Bundesliga club (Borussia Dortmund). The goal from the Norwegian striker was assisted by midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud who also scored one goal in the game before the full-time whistle. Dahoud’s goal was the last of this game.
