Bandovic’s most recent job was with Buriram United, where he won two Thai League titles in a row (2016-17 and 2017-18) and was named Thai League Manager of the Year in 2017. His club set then broke its own record for most points secured in Thai League history during his consecutive championship-winning seasons.
Buriram United’s 2017-18 league-winning season was bolstered by a run to the AFC Champions League round of 16, semifinal participation in the Thai League Cup, and a run to the Thai FA Cup final under Bandovic.
The following season (2019-20), the coach from Montenegro guided the team to victory in the Thai Champions Cup and the Thai League Cup final, only to be defeated in a penalty shootout. His time with Buriram United was marked by 86 victories, 22 draws, and 23 defeats.
Bandovic was also the head coach of Olympiacos FC for a small period after working with the Greek giant in various capacities, including as the Head of Analysis for former Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde and as an assistant coach the following season.
