Erling Braut Haaland, one of the world’s best 21-year-old has garnered a lot of interest from the best clubs in Europe for a potential transfer signing this summer. Some of those clubs include Manchester City which currently holds the English title, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona. This also means that his current club would suffer from the absence of the accurate striker and that the hunt to replace him would be tiresome.
Haaland has contributed 3 goals and six assists in 23 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund this season and scored 80 goals and registered 21 assists in 82 appearances for Dortmund in all competitions throughout his career. His competitive mentality has been proven on the pitch and the club knows very well that if a club like Manchester City so approaches, they may not be able to retain him financially.
However, Borussia Dortmund CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted that he could do so little to prevent the Norwegian from leaving the club but if a move so happens, he is adamant about finding new talent to develop him into the next star in replacement of Haaland, Sport Bild says. The release clause of the 21-year-old is about 67 million pounds and should be activated before April 30th, 2022.
Hans-Joachim Watzke has openly criticised the unrealistic media tensions regarding transfers in the league as nothing could prevent them from leaving. It happened to Lewandowski and Aubameyang and it will happen again but producing stars ahead of Haaland’s absence will only do Bundesliga well, said the CEO to Bild.
