Romelu Lukaku says sorry to the fans after his interview with Sky Italy went viral. In that interview, he spoke about many things about how he feels staying in Chelsea and also whether he wants to stay here or leave the club. The Belgian forward was too direct in this interview, he revealed that the manager of Chelsea Thomas Tuchel is not playing him the way he wants. Thus, Lukaku is not happy with the situation at the club right now.
The 28-year-old Belgian also expressed his desire to play in Inter again as he feels it’s the right club for him. However, after his interview with Sky Italy was out, Tuchel didn’t include him in the squad for the Liverpool clash which happened on Sunday. He was not even on the bench for Chelsea. But, as reported by Reuters, After the match Tuchel told that he will meet Romelu Lukaku and will try to understand his view after watching his whole interview. Blues’ manager had a meeting with the striker on Tuesday and as per Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, the meeting went well between the club and the player (Romelu Lukaku) and the Belgian forward wants to stay at the club.
On Tuesday, Tuchel announced Lukaku’s decision after the meeting. “Romelu Lukaku apologized and he’s back in the squad. This is not as big as people want it to be – it’s not small but we can stay calm and accept his apologies,” Tuchel said in the pre-match press conference as posted by Chelsea FC’s official website.

A few hours later, Romelu Lukaku gave a message to the fans through the club’s official website. “I’m sorry, for the upset, cause you guys know the connection that I have with this club since my teenage years. Obviously, it’s up to me now to restore your trust. And I’ll do my best to show commitment every day on the training ground and in games,” Romelu Lukaku said in a video posted by ChelseaTV (official website).
