FC Bayern Munich put on an impressive display in their first pre-season friendly, cruising to a 14-1 victory over FC Rottach-Egern on Wednesday evening. The match, held at the picturesque Sportplatz Birkenmoos by Lake Tegernsee, saw Bayern’s attacking prowess on full display.
Mathys Tel led the scoring with a hat-trick, while Adin Ličina and Mudaser Sadat added two goals each. Tobias Schlichtner scored the lone goal for the hosts in the 28th minute. Despite the heavy defeat, Rottach-Egern’s defense and goalkeeper Mario Weiß managed to keep Bayern at bay in the early stages of the match.
The game began with Bayern dominating possession, though early chances were thwarted by Weiß. It wasn’t until the 25th minute that Bayern broke the deadlock, with Ličina scoring twice in quick succession. Tel then added two more goals, bringing the score to 4-1 after Schlichtner’s consolation goal for Rottach. By half-time, Bayern had further extended their lead with goals from Noussair Mazraoui, Tel again, and Raphaël Guerreiro, making it 7-1.
The second half saw a complete overhaul of Bayern’s lineup, and the fresh team continued the onslaught. Arijon Ibrahimović, Mudaser Sadat, Nestory Irankunda, and Sacha Boey, who scored an own goal, all added to the tally. Sadat completed his brace, and Jonathan Asp Jensen and Noel Aseko-Nkili each scored, culminating in a resounding 14-1 win.
The game was not only a showcase of Bayern’s attacking strength but also an opportunity for fans to enjoy a range of events, including appearances from the club mascot, Berni. Bayern Munich’s next friendly is scheduled against 1. FC Düren on Sunday, and the match can be watched live on FC Bayern TV Plus.
