With this win, Bayern has cemented their top spot in the 2021/22 Bundesliga season. The defending champions are now 4 points clear of Marco Rose’ Borussia Dortmund. The game was a very thriller as the fans were cheering for their teams till the final whistle. However, Bayern was the relieved team after hearing the last whistle from the referee in the 100th minute as 10 minutes of regulation time was been given.

The match started with a boom as it took only 5 minutes for Julian Brandt to open the scoring for Dortmund. A rifle shot from Dortmund’s man passed the German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and the home team took the lead. Just after 4 minutes, Robert Lewandowksi, who recently got the ‘Striker of the Year’ award in the Ballon D’or ceremony scored the equalizing goal. After the equalizer, Bayern was dominating the possession and looking more comfortable on the ball and they got their reward in the 44th minute when Kingsley Coman scored a stunner after Dortmund’s defense staggered.

The game didn’t end here, one of the best strikers in the world, Erling Haaland scored an amazing goal as he curled the ball from the left flank which beats Neuer, and put the home side right back into the game. That goal from the Norwegian gives a lot of confidence to Dortmund and it seemed they could also find another goal. However, Lewandowski’s goal from the spot was enough to lower the confidence of the home side and make the table-toppers winners. Bayern is now on 34 points after winning 11 games in 14 and this win has made their top spot more secured.
