Bayer Leverkusen has been doing justice to their new name given by fans – “Neverlusen” as they haven’t lost a single game this season. They also won the first leg of the UEFA Europa League’s semi-finals against AS Roma last night.
The final scoreline of the game was 2-0. Manager Xabi Alonso may feel that 2 goals advantage in the second leg is enough for them but you can never ever write off Roma as comeback is possible for them.
Bayer Leverkusen has been on an amazing run this season, living up to their nickname. The team are showing complete resilience and determination and seems more fitting than ever as the team remains undefeated in all competitions.
Their latest feat came in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals, where they clashed against AS Roma. Leverkusen emerged victorious in the first leg, securing a dominating 2-0 win. Manager Xabi Alonso must be pleased with his team’s performance, but he knows better than to underestimate their opponents, especially a side as Roma who were the finalists of the UEFA Europa League last season.
While Leverkusen may hold a comfortable two-goal advantage heading into the second leg, Alonso understands that the tie is far from over. Roma has the required talent and dedication to make a comeback in this fixture. However, Bundesliga champions Leverkusen just need one victory to play the finals of the UEFA Europa League 2023/24.
