Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste confirms Lionel Messi’s contact and wants him back

Messi reportedly earns £ 740,000 a week at PSG.

Two years after Lionel Messi left for Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona vice president Rafa Yuste confirmed the club wishes to resign him. Messi, who led Argentina to World Cup glory in December, will see his current contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired. There are also talks of an extension.

“We’ve been in contact with Leo Messi’s camp. Leo knows how much we appreciate him, and I’d love him to return. “Messi loves Barça and the city, so we hope to find the right conditions to continue his history here.” Barcelona vice president Yuste said, per Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

In 2021, the 35-year-old left Barcelona under controversial circumstances, ending his association with the club due to his departure. As Messi’s close friend Xavi is now the man in charge of the club, the club has moved quickly to bring him back.

Messi reportedly earns £ 740,000 a week, and PSG is reluctant to renew his contract, with potential Financial Fair Play punishments looming for them. PSG faces a hefty wage bill because of star players such as Neymar and Kylian Mabppe on its books. With Messi already past his peak, the decision of PSG and Messi to move on is a good one. Barcelona fans can also be delighted by a comeback.
