There is no doubt that Xavi Hernández will extend his Barcelona contract. Xavi returned to Barcelona as the club’s new manager on 6 November 2021, replacing Ronald Koeman. In June 2024, he signed a contract. In the wake of Xavi’s arrival, the players were subjected to stricter rules. It included reintroducing fines, early training arrivals, and player off-field monitoring. With this implementation of regulations and their diligent work, Xavi’s Barca may win La Liga this season. They boast 68 points from 26 games – 12 more than second-placed Real Madrid.

But Xavi has failed as a European football manager. He has won just four of the 16 games he has managed in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. Barcelona has been eliminated from the Champions League group stage twice for the first time since 1998-99. Despite being relegated to the Europa League both times, they could not advance beyond the quarterfinals.
