FC Barcelona are the Champions of Supercopa. The Supercopa de Espana is the competition played in spain where La Liga and the other Spanish league’s teams play against each other for the trophy. The cup is basically the Spanish domestic tournament.
This was Barcelona’s first title under their manager Xavi. With the victory in the finals against Real Madrid by 3-1, FC Barcelona reach a new milestone. This was the first time in 23 years that the Football Club Barcelona won any trophy without Lionel Messi.
The Argentine world cup winner Lionel Messi is a Barcelona’s legend as he served the club for 21 years. After he left for PSG, Barcelona’s condition was poor and they also had to play in UEFA Europa League which they never did with Messi in the club. Last trophy for Barcelona without Lionel Messi in the squad came in the year 1998-99.
Xavi’s side is also leading the current La Liga’s table and will be looking to win this title as well.
