Barcelona begins their new season with an exciting win over Real Sociedad

Barcelona were playing their first match in La Liga 2021/22. It was raining goals in Camp Nou. Martin Braithwaite, Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto, all were seen on the scoresheet for Barcelona.

Barcelona has begun its season in style. They won 4-2 against Real Sociedad, who finished 5th last season. Barcelona was playing in their home ground, Camp Nou which was filled by 30,000 spectators. Barca was without Messi in this match but many people in the Crowd were seen wearing jerseys with Messi written behind them. It seems they were missing their former number 10.

Barcelona has started a new era with an exciting win. Barcelona dominated the game and scored 4 goals against Real Sociedad’s 2 goals. 19 minutes in the game when Barcelona was awarded a free kick. Memphis Depay, the debutant who has recently joined the team from Lyon this summer took the free kick. Gerrard Pique won the header from the Sociedad’s men and gave the lead to Barcelona. Just before the halftime whistle, Barca’s number 12, Martin Braithwaite scored a header from the Dutch midfielder, Frankie de Jong cross.

The second half was underway and Barcelona again had most of the possession on the ball. This benefitted them in the 59th minute when Martin Braithwaite scored his second and Barcelona’s third goal. Ronald Koeman seemed so so relaxed after the third goal and thought this goal might seal the game. But, it was not over yet, Real Sociedad started attacking with only 10 minutes left on the clock.

Real Sociedad’s man Julen Lobete Cienfuegos who came from the bench in the 66th minute makes it 3-1. Then, in less than 4 minutes, they also found their second goal which made the score 3-2. This goal from Spain International, Mikel Oyarzabal gave a huge lift to their fans as they believed the team can make a comeback. At last, Real Sociedad couldn’t equalize the score but Barca sealed the game by scoring their fourth goal. The game ended 4-2 to Barcelona after the referee’s whistle.
