Barcelona and Atletico Madrid were up against each other on Sunday night at Metropolitano Stadium (Atletico Madrid’s home ground). There is a battle between the defending champions Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in the La Liga points table. But after Barcelona won the game against Atletico Madrid, they go three points clear at the top of the league.
Real Madrid lost their game this week in the league against Villarreal FC which was played on Saturday night. It was not a best of nights for FC Barcelona but the fans are happy to see them clinching the close victory against Atletico Madrid.
French right winger Ousmane Dembele scores the first and the last goal of the game as only a single was scored in the whole 90 minutes. Ousmane Dembele was assisted by the Spanish youngster named Gavi when Pedri gave him the ball on the edge of the box.
Barcelona did have some shots on goal after that but couldn’t extend their lead. At last, one player from each side got a red card and both the teams were down to 10-men. Ferran Torres and Atletico Madrid’s defender Stefan Savic were involved in a fighting in the last seconds of the game before the referee sent them off.
