Bad news for Real Madrid, Thibaut Courtois ruled out vs Barcelona ahead of El Clasico

Courtois will be will be replaced in the starting lineup by backup goalie Andriy Lunin.

Ahead of the big match, the 14 times UEFA Champions League winners suffer with the bad news that none of the Madridistas would want to listen. Thibaut Courtois, the goalkeeper for Real Madrid, will not play in the El Clasico since he has not yet fully recovered from sciatica discomfort.

Prior to the game on Saturday, Courtois had hoped to return to the team for training, but the soreness in his back has persisted, necessitating extra time off. He will be replaced in the starting lineup by backup goalie Andriy Lunin. Since Courtois was injured, Lunin has struggled occasionally, but coach Carlo Ancelotti and his staff will have to put their faith in Lunin’s ability and promise.

To preserve Lunin, Real Madrid’s defensive line must also put in a strong effort, so it will be intriguing to see what Ancelotti has in store for his starting lineup. As it is highly likely that Mendy will start on the left side of the defence, Rudiger, Alaba, and Militao are vying for two positions.
